My contribution to the Holiday seasons

For the past years I have been TERRIFIED of the holiday season,
so I thought I would fight my new found phobia with festive decorations and outfits

Coat: 1960s mohair gain plaid houndstooth with fur collar
                                                      Skirt: 1960s pleated wool skirt

Filling up the wardrobe

Today I took out the rest of my warm clothing from storage.
My wardrobe and drawers are now filled with fluffy softness!
I also pulled out some hats and my fur gloves!
I am ready for the ice and snow, bring it on!

Orange soutache

40s Black Green Soutache Jacket Suit Dress

I love soutache. Soutache is a narrow flat braid sewn in any shape to the surface of a garment.  From men's mariachi trousers to details on 1910s-1950s clothing, this incredible technique, no matter how intricate or simple, adds the perfect amount of depth and texture to any garment.  This technique is a good example that shows the importants of(normally overlooked) surface decoration is in the world of design.
