On the last day with my parents we went to the giant whole foods in Kensington, and then briefly visited the V&A.  Each time I see the Costume section in the V&A I am reminded how they took the HUGE selection of antique textiles you could view behind these glass drawers.  You could even take them out and study them closer.  I think they might be in the design museum now, which has an entry fee!    I wish that the display of "fashion" was better and complementary to the business that makes up most of the uk's economy.

Outfit details:

Dress: 1960s brocade with darc brown fur trim
Collar: fur mink 1950s
Brooch: 1920s celluloid hand brooch with a movable ring and bracelet and red nail polish
Headband: Fur 1960s

I'm considering going into museum curation so that I can make those kinds of awesome things more accessible to visitors.

Love brooches! Very pretty! I wish I knew the History museum in Madison, WI had such a huge array of antique and vintage costume, when I was there every other week. Trying to visit soon!

Thanks! I lost the very same one when I moved here and was lucky to find another one to replace it in my price range since it is very collectible/valuable

You could take things out and TOUCH them? Wow! I can't wait to travel to London some day.
I really like your eye makeup in these pictures. It reminds me of Moira Shearer's in The Red Shoes. What do you use to get such a precise lines?

I was a really fun day! Sell it? Never!

You couldn't touch them, they were under a piece of glass, kind of like a giant and shallow shadow box that you would hang for decoration on the wall. You could take that out and place it down on a table and take pictures or draw from it. Thanks about the makeup! I started to do my eyes like that after being obsessed with Moira shear! Also unfortunately, my only tip for the precise lines is lots of practice! I did it by hand with a liquid eyeliner thin brush.

You should visit the new V&A clothworkers centre, they have so many beautiful things. You just have to make an appointment Also I work in the central saint martins archive which has lots of delightful fashion illustrations and clothing! Bath fashion museum is also lovely, the things on display are so so but the archive is incredible !! XX
